Something has to be changed, the all-new BMW R1300 GS is officially announced!

On September 28 (September 29, Beijing time), BMW officially unveiled the new facelifted R 1300 GS model, which will also be updated in China. Since there have been a lot of spy and makeup photos before, this new R 1300 GS has already been introduced. This generation of the R 1300 GS can be regarded as a new generation model, with a new upgrade in terms of appearance, power, equipment and frame.

No more large & small eyes and steel tube frames
The new BMW R 1300 GS not only has very noticeable changes in terms of appearance, but also in terms of the lighter alloy frame. Perhaps everyone thinks that the new R 1300 GS is not as domineering as the R 1250 GS, and the absence of big and small eyes does not have the appearance of "water birds". But these changes will come sooner or later, and as a consumer, we can only accept it, after all, the S 1000 R and RR have long since canceled the big and small eye design.

The first impression of the new R 1300 GS is that it is more youthful, and the X-shaped LED headlights are still three-dimensional when viewed up close, while the original bird's beak design is still continued, but the shape is more concise and clear. In addition, the new R 1300 GS is equipped with an electric windshield with spotlights mounted under the left and right deflectors, and turn signals individually mounted on the handlebar guards.

Maybe you can't change the classic image of the big and small eye "water birds" all at once, but a large part of the reason is also because you haven't gotten used to the new design. Just like the original BMW 4 Series vertical air intake design, it was also called "pig nostrils" by car enthusiasts, but now I am used to looking back at the 4 Series and it is really a little domineering.

In addition to the exterior design changes, the new R 1300 GS also abandons the long-established steel tube frame and uses a new aluminum frame. The addition of the aluminum alloy frame is also a manifestation of lightweight, so the frame part of the new model is 12 kg lighter than the current model. The big and small eyes, the steel tube frame is no longer classic or not, and this time the new R 1300 GS does change a bit big. Here's what the different versions of the new R 1300 GS look like.

Higher configurations, more options
The new R 1300 GS is also part of the new R 1300 GS with full LED luminaires in the base configuration, and the headlights with optional cornering assist. The instrument has not changed much, and the current full-color TFT LCD instrument is still used, which is operated through the left handlebar, and the new model is also equipped with a handle heating function as standard. In addition, it is equipped with 12V on-board power supply, keyless start, tire pressure monitoring, seat heating, engine resistance and torque control, ABS Pro, and cruise control DCC. Suspension, the new R 1300 GS features the same 190.5mm front and 200.6mm rear suspension as the R 1250 GS, with the Bembro calipers returning.

In terms of electronic control, the new R 1300 GS comes standard with Engine Drag & Torque Control (MSR), Hill Start (HSC), Dynamic Brake Assist (DBC), Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Dynamic Cruise Control (DCC) with braking, ABS Pro and battery loss warning. The official configuration package can also be equipped with optional options such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Blind Spot Monitoring and Lane Change Warning (SWW). It is worth mentioning that the new R 1300 GS not only offers blind spot detection in the left and right lanes as well, but also pre-brakes with softer force when the risk of a collision is detected.

In addition to the basic exterior, the new R1300GS retains the TripleBlack all-over blackout color options, as well as the R1300GS Trophy with spoked wheels for off-road performance. In addition, the new BMW also offers an optional adaptive seat height adjustment function, which automatically reduces the seat height to 820mm when the vehicle is stationary or creeps at low speed, and the seat height will be raised to 851mm after the vehicle starts, which is a very intimate configuration for small people.

Power upgrades, horsepower increases
The new R1300GS has also been upgraded in terms of power, with an actual displacement of 1300cc, and still supports the ShiftCam variable valve timing system, which can change the valve timing and valve travel on the intake side. The engine also has a compression ratio of 13.3:1, with a maximum power of 145 PS at 7,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 149 N·m at 6,500 rpm. The new gearbox is integrated into the engine under the crankshaft, resulting in a total engine mass that is 7 kg lighter than the current model, making it BMW's most powerful boxer engine.

The top speed is set at 225 km/h, and it accelerates from zero to 100 in 3.39 seconds, making 10 hp more than the current model. The decorative guards on both sides of the engine have also been newly designe
